Description: A heavily pregnant Fig guards her kill from marauding Hyaenas

Story from behind the lens: Fig dragged her Impala kill up a tree growing over the river. Heavily pregnant the exertion took its toll but she needed to hunt to stay strong for the birth of her cub. Marauding Hyaenas picked up the scent of the kill and tried unsuccessfully to climb the tree to steal it. Fig the female Leopard hissed and snarled at the Hyaena, she did not want a fight so close to the birth but she could not give up her food. She was fearless and threatening, the Hyaena eventually gave up and she was able to feed in peace providing nourishment for her unborn cub.
