Description: A couple of lionesses enjoy a fresh kill, all the while keeping an eye out

Story from behind the lens: We were on our way to breakfast after a hot air balloon ride and came across a pride of lions celebrating a new kill. In the background of this scene two cubs were playing tug of war with the skin of an animal. The scene was perfect. I positioned my camera at eye level to get the two lionesses feasting on the buffalo, when one of them looked up, directly into my lens. The fierce eye contact was something to behold.
