Description: An angry warthog mother saves her piglet by ramming the leopard and catapulting it into the air

Story from behind the lens: It was an early sunny morning that we found a young leopard known as Faulu. She was just sitting there in the grass, observing her territory. Very soon she discovered a warthog family with 3 piglets, grazing in an open plain area. Ignoring the fact, that those piglets were very close to their mother, Faulu started stalking them- first crawling and then just running towards them. The leopard reached the piglets and managed to grab one of them. Mama warthog, who first just run away, realized what had happened and went back to defend her small one. She attacked and rammed the leopard with an incomparable power, easily throwing her up in the air. While flying, Faulu lost the grip of her prey! Landed on the ground again the shocked little piglet ran away and so did the leopard- being chased by a very angry mother... Do never underestimate the power of a mother!

Having photographed the whole story from the beginning until the final end, this photo is my favorite. The flying leopard.
