Description: Buffalo mother defending calf

Story from behind the lens: We came across 2 Lionesses stalking a Buffalo and her new born calf. Afterbirth had not dropped yet so she must have just given birth. The heavens opened up and as hard as the Buffalo cow tried to defend her newborn calf charging the lions the lionesses split up, outflanked her and took her calf. Very dramatic scene in torrential rain. We then followed one of the lionesses who went to fetch her cubs for the feed.
