Description: A group of lions play with each other during a rainstorm. This pride was full of younger animals, and they clearly weren't interested in just walking calmy through the savannah.

Story from behind the lens: We had been checking on the Topi Ridge pride for several days, hoping that the largest pride in the Mara would put on a show for us. Given the number of lions that composed the pride at the time, they needed to hunt quite regularly. However, the had been lazy for us up to this point. However, on this very rainy day we came across them as they walked with purpose through the savannah. The adult females in the group seemed to be on a mission, however the youngsters were more interested in playing with each other. With the long grass, low light, and constant movement it was hard to get an unobstructed picture, however this one capture, where one lion is making eye contact out of the jumble of lions, really stuck with me.
