Description: A female leopard descending a tree to retrieve a dropped carcass
Story from behind the lens: I watched from a distance as a leopard cub fed on an impala kill high in the branches of a tree. As I watched, the cub dislodged the kill which came plummeting to the ground. Immediately, his mother came down to retrieve the food. With the light coming directly from behind I overexposed the shot to give detail to the beautifully camouflaged cat. This also gave a high key finish, taking a way the rather dull sky.
