Description: A zebra looking at the other side of the savanna left barren after a controlled fire

Story from behind the lens: Controlled burning taking place in the savanna is quite the spectacle and creates a very unique photographic opportunity. My aim was to get a subject in frame and the burnt plains in the background so that the whole scene would tell the story of an event that happens every year in the Mara apart from the migration. The contrast in color between the lush plains and the burnt plains, the dull smoke on the plains and the energetic orange smoke in the sky because of the Sun made for an interesting scene.
