Description: A group of four giraffe move from the river to the savannah, keeping a weary eye on a pair of lioness behind our vehicle
Story from behind the lens: On a roasting hot afternoon we headed to the banks of the Mara river to where we knew the Topi Plains pride had made a kill. On their way back from a drink in the river these four giraffe spotted the group of feeding lions, all showing different levels of interest. Being down by the river allowed me to get a photo from below the level the giraffe were standing, adding impact to the sheer size of these animals
