Description: This lone female lion was making her way back to the pride as a storm came rolling in. She would pause to scan the horizon from time to time.

Story from behind the lens: The light was absolutely beautiful with thunder rolling and heavy rain imminent. The lioness was a beacon of gold in the swaying grass and against the deep blue of the Oloololo Escarpment. With the lone tree in the background, the scene encapsulated the beauty that lingers in my mind between each visit to the Mara.
