Description: A serval kitten walks delicately through the tall grass searching for prey. Although still young and dependent on Mom it has already learned and basic hunting techniques from her.

Story from behind the lens: I was in my safari vehicle, doors off, with my large lens mounted on a tripod for stability. The legs of the tripod were completely flat to obtain a low angle. I was privileged to follow a serval family for several days with this set up. Watching them play and hunt were highlights for me, however, the tall grass made getting clear shots a challenge. I was delighted when this little one stepped into an opening in the grass allowing me to capture her attentive poise.
