Story from behind the lens: Rain isn't something most people on a game drive would want but experience had taught me (and my lovely guide) that a fresh downpour on parched plains can breathe new life into sleepy lion cubs and even the adults too. We waited for an hour with the vehicle flaps down patiently hoping and we were rewarded with another hour of the cubs from the Offbeat Pride chasing and play fighting with each other. I was desperate for them to come to a termite mound and eventually two did. Hoping for three was perhaps greedy!
