Description: Mother Cheetah Carries Dinner to her Two Cubs

Story from behind the lens: This was the first 'kill' that I ever experienced in the Maasai Mara, or anywhere. It was very traumatic for me. After the Gazelle was killed, the Cheetah lumbered, dragging the heavy weight to her cubs. I noticed the look on the Gazelle's face...her fawn had scampered away ... for now. Her mouth looked like a smile and I imagined in her last moments, as she sacrificed for her child, she had seen the baby run away.
