Description: Amazing to see how the oxpecker becomes a mutually beneficial companion from the time the giraffe is a calf.

Story from behind the lens: I was lucky to see the oxpecker riding this beautiful baby giraffe in the Mara. The calf was always close to the mother and I had to be patient to capture this shot when the baby giraffe moved away briefly. Then the oxpecker flew in to land on the calf helping me take this shot of two species in symbiotic relationship. Serendipity I suppose.
