Description: I was delighted to be able to get this portrait, having only caught very fleeting glimpses of serval cats on previous trips to the Maasai Mara.

Story from behind the lens: This beautiful serval actually allowed us a lot of time in his presence. He was leaping after small prey, drinking water and slinking through the long grass. I couldn't believe my luck when he stepped out into the open and just came closer and closer to our vehicle. This sighting was the highlight of a wonderful trip.
