Description: Giraffe on lookout for this tower, whilst trying to source water from the semi-arid river, that flows through the Maasai Mara National Reserve. This giraffe locked eyes with us, creating a connection.
Story from behind the lens: On one fortunate day, in The Maasai Mara National Reserve, we had the pleasure of encountering a majestic giraffe tower as they made its way down the bank towards the arid river flowing through the reserve. Being that giraffes are referred to as a tower in a group form, I set out to capture a photo that portrayed this. As we sat quietly in our vehicle, observing the rest of the tower; suddenly, a long neck rose gracefully above the tall grass, and its eyes locked with ours, creating a moment of connection. The warm golden light of the setting sun bathed the scene, casting a magical glow on the giraffes' coat. The photo serves as a reminder of the incredible beauty and humour within all the vast array of wildlife in the reserve. In conclusion, our encounter with the giraffe tower in the Maasai Mara National Reserve was a truly remarkable experience. I was fortunate enough to witness their collective behaviour and create a lasting memory in the form of a captivating photograph. The Maasai Mara National Reserve had once again provided an unforgettable experience, allowing me to witness the majesty of nature up close.
