Description: Who could guess such enemies would join each other in easy company over a kill? Non-plussed. And, to dine with such gusto in close proximity without a care?

Story from behind the lens: We left camp early afternoon to search for hunting cheetah when our junior spotter identified what looked like a hyena on a carcass. We decided to investigate for a closer look and came upon this leopard and hyena enjoying the leopard's kill in very close proximity. These two unlikely dinner mates were well into their meal having removed part of the intestines when it finally dawned on this young leopard this wasn't the best idea. The leopard snarled, drove the hyena back and dragged it's kill into the brush. A superb sighting made all the rarer by two arch enemies sharing the prize albeit for a limited time only.
