Description: A young giraffe calf posing for a picture in the Mara

Story from behind the lens: This calf was active running around but always staying near the mother. The closer we got the further away they went. After patiently watching the calf play for about 20 minutes, the calf felt comfortable enough to come a little closer to our vehicle. Gave me a unique opportunity to get a close-up portrait shot of this beautiful young giraffe lying low in the vehicle in golden light. Such impressive eyes and lashes; cute look with the small tongue out; funny ears and impressive hair style! A great model indeed.
