Description: A herd of elephants approach a fig tree, occupied by a young male lion who was unsure whether to stay in the tree or run down. He chose to stay and watched the herd graze beneath him
Story from behind the lens: The pride had been in the tree all day and we'd been out since 6.30am. It was approaching dusk and in our 11th hour on safari that day we watched the herd approach the tree, 3 of the 4 lions rushed out of it, but the young male stayed put, walking up and down the branch as the elephants grazed underneath. He was visibly anxious but the elephants were calm, until he jumped out of the tree and the herd chased him off over the hill
