Description: A gazelle mother charges a marshall eagle
Story from behind the lens: While eating breakfast in the bush, Peter Mpoe (my guide) and I heard a commotion from across the plains. Looking out, we saw a herd of Thomson gazelle chasing a baboon with a fawn in its mouth. Quickly packing up breakfast and getting back in the jeep, we headed to the scene only to see the baboon drop the fawn and escape the angry herd. Suddenly, a marshall eagle swooped down to feast on the fawn. The mother of the fawn charged the eagle, scaring it off the of fawn. Tragically, it was already too late.
