Description: The matriarch of the hyena clan running away with the spoils of a predation.
Story from behind the lens: I watched as two hyena clans fought for the rewards of a zebra kill. Though the tension was immense, no hyenas were hurt. As the battle drew to a close, all hyenas had taken a piece of the carcass leaving the head for the matriarch to take for herself. It was a magical experience to see these amazing animals in their true glory and at their most dangerous. I decided to convert the shot to mono as I believe this made for a more dramatic image.
