Story from behind the lens: When traveling across the plain, we saw this beautiful bird, one of the clean-up committee perched on a ribcage in rising sunlight. The view gave a lovely rim light to the ribs and the bird. I enjoy the incongruousness of the image. Seeing it made me feel a bit sad, but it also made me feel appreciative of the beauty that can be found even in moments of death.
