Description: Leopard walking past with an intense stare.

Story from behind the lens: On my recent trip to the Mara Triangle, our guides always seemed to have a great sense of where we should look for the mighty Shuuja. He seems to get around a bit but on this early evening he gave us several opportunities for lovely portrait shots. This image stands out to me because when I think of him, I think of his imposing presence and stature in the area. It’s almost like he is saying “I am Shuuja and this is my world.” This stare is authentically formidable and iconic. And, he has been my favorite leopard here for many years.
