Description: Three members of the Marsh Pride observe a Topi passing in front of the sunrise, taken on my final morning in the Mara.
Story from behind the lens: It was my last safari with Governors' Camp at the end of an epic 55 day guiding stint. I went out to get one last glimpse of the Marsh Pride before returning home and found 9 members (4 females and 5 subadults) by the Musiara Airstrip. At one moment we had all 9 at different points in fairly close proximity and it was hard to know which group to photograph. One group was silhouetted against the sunrise and it took a lot of restraint not to give up on this shot and focus on the classic silhouette image. Luckily the gamble paid off as all three subjects checked on a passing Topi giving me a second to capture them all looking in the same direction. Thank you Marsh Pride!
