Description: A gutsy lioness takes on the alpha male for scraps left over from the kill made last night. A less feisty lioness looks on waiting for the outcome.
Story from behind the lens: Sunrise cast a soft light on a pride of lions quietly feeding on a wildebeest kill from the night before. All of a sudden, a lioness decided it was time to grab a bigger share. I quickly changed my point of view to capture the fleeting moment. I was set up on the floor of my safari vehicle, doors off, with my long lens on a tripod. The tripod legs were extended for a low angle. I think the stability of the tripod and the remarkable ability of the mirrorless R5 allowed me to capture the scene which only lasted fractions of seconds.
