Story from behind the lens: It was an overcast and rainy morning. Despite the weather, we decided to head out with our excellent guides, Moses & Sesen, to see what we could find. We came across a large herd of Elephants who didn't seem phased by the rain. So we parked our safari truck, and I started taking pictures. The elephants kept walking towards our vehicle, and I struggled to get them in frame due to their close proximity. Changing my focus, I decided to get some close-up shots with my 400mm lens. When the rain momentarily stopped, and some light shone through the cloud cover, I knew this was a good choice. The small amount of light provided the perfect facial highlights. I hope you enjoy the detail of this beautiful matriarch.
