Description: A young cub prepares to bat his mother in the back as insects fly around his face in the Mara Triangle.

Story from behind the lens: It was getting toward dark as a small family of lions were playing in the Mara Triangle. They were mostly in and out of high grass and a bit difficult to photograph, but I was able to pick up this cute one of the cub with his paw up in the air about to swat his mother in the back while she looks towards the plains probably thinking about more serious matters, like the potential success of the evening hunt.
