Description: Mama Servil with fresh caught Rodent

Story from behind the lens: Since we observed this mother Servil in the late afternoon, she had protected her three kittens in a stand-off with a Hyena, secret them in a safe spot, and then went to hunt for food. With much patience, she laid in one place for about half an hour. At some point she heard something unheard by human ears, arose, and every muscle tensed as she readied herself to pounce. And pounce she did! After a quick nest search she came up with a good sized rodent, and as she turned to go I could see the face and eyes of her prey.
