Description: The king displays his massive jaws, looking ever so regal, as only the big strong males can. With his queen lying nearby, he looked very impressive and royal. Naiboisho Camp, Mara North Conservancy.

Story from behind the lens: It was a cold rainy day in the Mara, and having located the lions in thick bush we decided to wait it out for them to show themselves. As dusk came, and the light was fading the big male and females finally emerged and when the male lay down near the lioness I was ready to take the photo I waited for.
