Story from behind the lens: This beautiful lioness had been traveling along the Mara River and suddenly approached our vehicle as she came up the bank. This lioness captured my fascination with her confidence, her unblinking stare, and her sleekness. She has survived a few battles, yet carries herself as a queen and a powerhouse. She certainly knows how to make an entrance. Rani means Queen in Swahili.
