Description: A lioness carries away her recent kill
Story from behind the lens: It was a quiet morning in Olare Motorogi Conservancy that quickly changed when a lioness began stalking a small group of impala. The youngest was singled out and taken down with efficiency and speed. As cruel as it appears, it is unlikely the little one experienced pain thanks to the power of the lioness. I felt taking the image off-angle as the lioness carried away her prey told a unique story. The head of the prey is the visible and the strong shoulders of the lioness are clear. I took the image from a doors-off safari vehicle.
