Description: Three lion cubs play with unbridled joy in the rain on top of a large rock.

Story from behind the lens: We had spent a pleasant evening watching and photographing the Black Rock pride, when suddenly it started to drizzle. The rain slowly picked up and we saw most of the pride try to seek shelter or huddle next to each with the intention of waiting the rain out. These three cubs however to our absolute delight thought it was time to play. They ran up a rock and started chasing and jumping on one another. It was difficult yet thrilling to try and capture their unbridled joy in the fading light. Suddenly they came to the top of the rock and one cub pounced on another with a third ready to join in. Silhouetted against the sky with rain falling gently in the background, it seemed to be the moment that epitomised this whole scene.
