Description: Lions surround Cape Buffalo

Story from behind the lens: On our last day on safari in the Mara, we found a pride of lions in the early morning. Soon, they found a cape buffalo in a river. Alone. The lionesses started the attack, biting on its back and rear legs. After severing the tendons in its rear legs, the buffalo had limited mobility. The lions then waited for the buffalo to tire. However the will to live was strong with this buffalo. It was constantly looking for a way out of the river, never giving up. But the entire lion pride was on guard. It was amazing as the lion cubs even took part, watching next to their mom and aunts.
