Description: Nelangu greeting her son Jaziri
Story from behind the lens: We found Jaziri resting alone one morning in March 2023. We had seen him with his mother, more than nine months earlier, expecting it to be the last time we would see them together. All of a sudden he became alert, hearing the calls of his mum nearby. They greeted each other, him looking far happier about it than she did, and then they walked together for more than half an hour with her leading him to her latest kill. He was quite old to still be so mothered, with a possible theory that as she is late in life, she is doing everything she can to ensure he has the best chance of survival going forward.
