Story from behind the lens: December 2020 - January 2021 we did a three week safari across various Porini camps of Kenya. We spent Christmas at Porini Lion Camp and ushered in the new year at Porini Mara Camp. Through out the period we met numerous pairs of mating lions. This couple were particularly "friendly" and allowed us to photograph them in the wide open plains of the Naibosho conservancy. The clouds, the hills in the background and the grass created a beautiful backdrop and foreground for the golden lions. This picture (the last in a series where every moment the lion had a different expression) speaks volumes about this dominant male.
