Description: A silhouette shot of lions mating at sunrise. Immediately after mating, the female snarls and lashes out at the male, who jumps back growling. Within a few minutes courtship is resumed.

Story from behind the lens: We were so excited to see a pair of lions mating for the first time. We decided to position ourselves for a backlit shot to create more visual interest, and were so enthralled by the result, down to the saliva spraying from the lions' mouths.
