Description: A Leopard locks onto her prey as she goes into hunting mode

Story from behind the lens: This is the leopard Faulu. She had just made a kill in a nearby river bed but had it stolen by a crocodile. Rather angry at her loss, she climbed the river bank and went to lie under the shade of a tree. I was photographing her grooming herself when she suddenly either heard or saw something that piqued her attention and, quick as a flash, she went from quietly grooming herself into that beautiful to watch low leopard crawl as she darted towards me with a look of intense focus and determination to replace her recently lost meal. I was fortunate enough to get this shot because within 2 seconds, she was gone.
