Description: Resting Marsh Pride of lions early morning at Bilashaka lugga.

Story from behind the lens: On this cloudy morning with a happy melody playing in my head, I am parked in the heart of The Marsh Lion Pride’s territory, the entire pride lounging before me sans the males. God knows where they are. The lionesses are dozing and the youngsters are sitting yet alert, typically cat like. However, as it gets warmer, one by one the felines seek shelter in a nearby lugga. Photographing them like this confirms my hunch that lions are like jazz, free in how they improvise, yet cool and focussed.
