Description: Optimism personified

Story from behind the lens: A lioness was trying to gain entry to the carcass of a dead hippo. The head and shoulders of the hippo had been stripped of its flesh and the skeleton and weight of the hide prevented the lion from getting deeper into the carcass. In a display of sheer optimism, the lioness tried to pull the head and spine away from the remains. Unsurprisingly this proved to be in vain. A great, albeit one sided, tug of war was an enthralling sight!
