Description: Basking in the early morning glow a lioness watches cautiously as she eats her zebra kill.

Story from behind the lens: Nothing gets the heart rate beating more than hearing there’s been a kill right outside camp just before dawn! Little more than 20 metres from the camp we found a pride of lions had taken down a zebra. The lion were very cautious as they could smell and hear people in camp as well as the massing hyena! After about a hour and a half, in the beautiful morning glow of around 8am sunrise light, I was able to capture the gorgeous moment she peered over and through the carcass to check us out in the truck.
