Description: 5 of the lionesses of the Rekero pride all in sync just before a hunt stand out strong and focused against the vast rolling plains of the magical Masaai Mara.
Story from behind the lens: 7 lioness of the Rekero pride were on the hunt. There was excitement and tension in the air. We watched from afar as they strategized - their yellow-gold coats helped to perfectly camouflage them in the tall golden sun kissed savannah grass of the Mara. Their first attempt to pounce on some warthogs failed but they were determined to get a meal and kept walking in search of prey. After a long walk with nothing in sight, they stopped on this mound to rest. In the far distance a bush buck appeared out of the trees and within a split of a second, as if on cue, all the lionesses turned in synch to focus on what would hopefully be their next meal. They have truly mastered the art of team work and it was just amazing to be able to capture this moment.
