Description: The Mara king enjoying the early golden rays

Story from behind the lens: We left the lodge in the early hours of the day looking for this lion pride. Upon reaching there we saw the pride was scattered all over the place . Our guide was struggling to position the car so that we could get a good picture in the golden light, as the pride was on the move. Our guide decided to move ahead of the pride and park the car.

That's when one male lion sat down in this beautiful golden light facing us. And we manage to take this picture.
