Story from behind the lens: After an eventful morning drive, we headed to meet our mobile COVID test unit in the Marsh are of the reserve. While getting our tests, Adnan, our guide got word that a lion coalition had taken down a hippo on the banks of the Mara river. As we rushed to the scene of the kill, we saw this shadow moving toward us... One of the lions of the Bila Shaka coalition had already gorged himself on the hippo and was walking toward us in search of some scarce Mara shade. An unforgettable scene.
