Description: A female giraffe and her calf

Story from behind the lens: Every morning during our safari we passed through the community land before entering into the Mara reserve. I was amazed how local herdsmen lived in harmony with wildlife and admired the views of cow or goat herds amongst giraffe, zebra and wildebeest. One morning just before the first lights of the sun we saw a female giraffe and her calf enjoying the safety of the nearby village. We decided to wait nearby for the rising sun. The giraffes were so close and so relaxed that we could see the oxpeckers flying around them in the darkness.
