Description: A Lilac Breasted Roller sitting on top of a single Wildebeest amongst thousands of animals.
Story from behind the lens: As you can imagine during the migration season in the Mara thousands of wildebeest can be found in large herds milling about. We had just arrived into the Mara Triangle and came across this impressive herd grazing and stopped to take in the scene. There were thousands of wildebeest bunched together moving in different directions and munching on grass. As I looked across the herd I came to realize that a single lilac breasted roller was flying amongst the wildebeest landing on the backs of the gnus. It was awesome to see this splash of color amongst the one tone of the wildebeest as well as this small bird contrasted against the large animals.
