Description: This lion was having a morning clean up. He had several wounds from combat with another male for the attention of a female in the area.

Story from behind the lens: Our group had the fortune to observe an epic battle between two male lions and the following day we spotted one of the males cleaning up and tending his battle wounds. The morning light highlighted his many scars.
