Description: Cape buffalo attempting to leave a small pan with Topi pride in pursuit

Story from behind the lens: Overnight, a Cape buffalo escaped a lion to a very small pan of water. As morning broke, the Topi pride with more than two dozen members surrounded the pan waiting on the Cape buffalo to escape. Several times throughout the day, the buffalo tried to escape but each time the pursuing lions chased him back into the water. I was not able to see the end of this story but understand that during the night the buffalo was finally captured by the large pride.
